Mr. Ognyanov graduated cum laude from Sofia University, Faculty of Law (LL.M. 2000) as well as from a four-semester course of English and European Law at the University of Cambridge, UK.
Member of the Sofia Bar since 2002, Mr. Ognyanov specialised in ICT and IP law, e-commerce and electronic communications regulation. He has provided legal services to a number of local and international companies operating in the ICT sector – to fixed and mobile operators, satellite operators, internet service providers, software companies, web hosting and video sharing provider.
Mr. Ognyanov has extensive experience in structuring and negotiating transactions, legal due diligence and managing projects. He has profound expertise in representation of clients before the Commission for Protection of Competition regarding unfair competition, public procurements, anti-trust and abusive practices in the field of telecommunications and information technologies, as well as in merger control procedures.
Mr. Ognyanov participated in work groups drafting a number of national laws – the Electronic Commerce Act, the Electronic Communications Act, amendments to the Access to Public Information Ac and Copyright and Related Rights Act.
Mr. Ognyanov is a member of the Sofia Bar Association (SBA), the International Bar Association (IBA), the Center for ICT Law (CLICT) and the International Technology Law Association (ITechLaw). Mr. Ognyanov is a panelist at the Czech Arbitration Court, which provides alternative dispute resolution (ADR) for .eu domain name disputes.
