Simon Tortell was admitted to the bar in 1984 and is the Senior Partner at Simon Tortell & Associates He has extensive experience in fiscal matters, banking and international finance. He has been at the forefront of the development of the investment funds industry in Malta, having advised on the incorporation and licensing of the first UCITS III platform in Malta. He is also actively involved in the structuring and development of innovative strategies for UCITS products and hedge funds. He is also a regular speaker at conferences and specialized focus groups dealing with different aspects of hedge funds, the UCITS III regime and the forthcoming changes envisaged by the new UCITS IV Directive.
