Ms. Maria Nebreda obtained her Law Degree from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello (Venezuela) in 1979. She graduated from Boston University in 1981, Course on General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) in 1982, and Academy of American and International Law Program, from the Center for American and International Law, in Dallas, Texas, in 1993.
She joined Hoet Peláez Castillo & Duque in 1988. Her practice expertise extends to General Counseling; Patents; Trademarks; Multiple Protection Analysis; Sanitary Registration; Changes on Trademarks and Patents; License and Technological Transfer; and Intellectual Property.
Prior to joining the firm, she was an attorney to the International Division of Banco Consolidado (1985-1987); and in earlier years, she also worked for the Foreign Trade Institute, in Caracas, Venezuela (1982 - 1985).
Ms. Nebreda's 20 years tenure expertise and experience in trade mark and patent matters has been highly recognized by Chambers LA 2010 and Best Lawyers 2010.
She is a member of the Caracas Bar Association; Venezuelan Association of Industrial Property (COVAPI) (former President); Intellectual Property Committee at The Venezuelan American Chamber of Commerce (VENAMCHAM) the Alumni Association; the International Trademark Association (INTA); Pharmaceutical Trademark Group (PTGM); the Inter-American Association of Industrial Property (ASIPI), amongst other.
