Soji heads the firm’s Energy Practice. His key practice areas include project finance, oil and gas and environmental law.
In his over 30 years of legal practice, he has garnered considerable experience in the development, supply, transmission and distribution of oil, gas and power, and energy sector restructuring and privatization. He has also gained a sound understanding of the legal, regulatory and policy issues as well as commercial, fiscal and environmental matters arising in construction and project development.
Soji is a pioneer environmental lawyer in Nigeria and an international consultant to UNDP, UNIDO, state and federal government environmental agencies. For the past ten years, Soji has been active in the development of the legal, regulatory and policy framework for the energy sector. He is the foundation President of the Nigerian Environmental Law Society He is the Chairman of the Environment Sub-Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law, and a member of the United Kingdom Environmental Lawyers’ Association (UKELA).
Soji recently served as an International Director, and Co-Chair, Host Countries Sub-Committee of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators; and has previously been active as an officer in the Section on Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Law of the International Bar Association. He is also the Vice President of the Association of Business Law Firms, and an associate member of the American Bar Association.
Soji is listed in the International Who’s Who of Oil and Gas Lawyers 2007, 2008 and 2009 and the Guide to the World’s Leading Energy and Natural Resources Lawyers.
