Svitlana Romanova is a partner in the Kyiv office of Baker & McKenzie actively engaged in natural resources projects in Ukraine, both mining and oil and gas. Ms Romanova has extensive in-depth knowledge of regulatory, technical and practical issues pertaining to all stages of natural resources’ exploration, production and marketing. Majority of her projects involve iron ores, oil, natural gas, coal, methane, gold, kaolin and many others. Apart from general advisory, Ms Romanova’s experience includes working on structuring and implementation of industry specific M&A transactions, conducting mining and oil & gas legal due diligences, drafting and negotiating joint activity agreements, as well as advising on IPOs and other fund raising undertakings of natural resources developers. In addition, Ms. Romanova has a good record of working with Ukrainian regulatory authorities and routinely participates in legislation development and lobbying initiatives pertaining to natural resources area.
