John Connors heads the Firm’s Global Mining & Metals Industry Group and the Energy, Mining & Infrastructure Practice Group in Central Asia. Mr. Connors’ practice is focused on mining and metals projects, joint ventures, acquisitions, mineral sales contracts, as well as exploration and project financing arrangements. He has more than 25 years’ experience in international mining transactions in various jurisdictions, including Australia (New South Wales, Queensland, and Western Australia), Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Ukraine, Zambia, Madagascar and Mauritania. He has also worked on a significant number of oil and gas, power and infrastructure projects in developing and transition countries. Mr. Connors’ clients include mining and metals companies (majors, SOEs, midcaps and juniors) as well as trading companies, utilities and banks.
