Theo is an active member of International Trademark Association (INTA) and is on the editorial board of the Trademark Reporter, a journal of INTA. He is the author of the Nigeria section of the International Annual Review of Trademark Jurisprudence (also published by INTA) and a member of the Intellectual Property Lawyers' Association of Nigeria. Theo is also a member of the section on intellectual property, communications and technology law of the IBA and the Intellectual Property Law Association of Nigeria (IPLAN).
Theo is admitted to practise law in England and Wales, Nigeria and Ghana.
He holds both a BSc (1979) and a MSc (1980) in engineering from the Imperial College of Science and Technology of the University of London, and is a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.

Theo is widely acknowledged as one of Nigeria's leading tax practitioners. His tax advisory profile spans across all types of income taxes as well as capital gains tax, and indirect taxes such as VAT, sales tax, customs and excise duties, and stamp duty.
He is currently the chair of the tax committee of the section on business law of the Nigerian Bar Association.
A fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), Theo served as the vice chair of the tax law review committee of the Institute. He contributed the chapter on international taxation in the CITN Nigerian Tax Guides and Statutes. He was formerly the deputy editor of the Nigerian Tax Notes as well as deputy editor of the Oil and Gas Law and Taxation Review. He is also a member of the section on taxation law of the IBA.

Theo's practice focuses mainly on commercial law with emphases on taxation, mergers & acquisitions, and intellectual property.
He has advised extensively on the legal, tax and regulatory regimes governing mergers & acquisitions in Nigeria. He also advises on corporate structures, shareholder rights and corporate governance issues.
Theo led the team which advised a major international telecommunications company on the US$ 1.6 billion acquisition of one of Nigeria's pioneer mobile telecommunications network operators.
He also led the team which advised a private equity company on a multimillion dollar acquisition of a Nigerian switching company.
