Vanessa Marquette (Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) (Law, 1994; Economic Law, 1995) ; University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (LL.M, 1998); Admitted to the Brussels Bar in 1995) is a lecturer at the ULB in international finance and security interests and in the practice of international business law, specialising as she does in banking law and financial law. She practices company law, insolvency law, securities law and international private law.

Vanessa Marquette regularly assists Belgian and international listed and unlisted companies in public transactions such as mergers and acquisitions and in relation to financial regulations.

In addition, she acts in various kinds of property transactions relating to the areas of company law and financial law.

She is the author of many publications in French and English, in the areas of international private law and financial law. More specifically, her publications relate to cross-border bankruptcy and security interests. She is a co-author of a work entitled “Les offres publiques d’acquisition. Le nouveau regime”, 2008.

Vanessa Marquette is member of the editorial committee of the “Revue de Droit Commercial Belge”. She is also a member of the “Association Européenne de Droit Bancaire et Financier” (A.E.D.B.F.).

She is regularly invited as a speaker at training seminars in the areas of company law and financial law.
