Jeong Han Lee is head of Bae, Kim & Lee’s Labour and Employment Practice Group, and is one of the recognized leaders in the labour and employment practice area in Korea. He has served as a Mediator for Labor Disputes of the Seoul Central District Court and also as a Special Investigator for the first National Special Prosecutor’s Office in 1999 in connection with the investigation of the union strike at the Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation. He has also acted as commissioner for Regulation Review Committee in Ministry of Employment and Labour and legal advisor of Ministry of Employment and Labour and Korea Worker’s Compensation and Welfare Service.

During his nearly 20 years of experience as an practicing attorney, Jeong Han Lee has advised on various labour and employment law issues and matters, including drafting employment related documents, handling labor unions and labor disputes, and advising on the restructuring of work forces to many domestic and foreign clients. He has also represented a broad base of clients at the various levels of the court system, as well as in front of the Labor Relations Commission, in cases such as wrongful dismissals, wage claims and validity of the employment related documents. Notably, he has won several Korean Supreme Court cases which are now regarded as precedents for the relevant labour and employment law issues that were involved in the cases.

Jeong Han Lee received his legal education at Seoul National University Law School and Tulane Law School (LLM ). He is the author of a number of articles and publications on Korean labour and employment law and practice, and is a frequent lecturer or speaker on employment and labour law issues. He was a visiting attorney at Burke & Parsons, New York, and Sinclair Roche & Temperley, London. He is also listed as a leading lawyer in Chambers Asia (2008-2011) and “Leading Lawyers” at Asialaw (2011).
