Pascal Ormen advises leaders of the insurance and reinsurance industry on technical regulatory aspects of their business and represents all actors of the insurance industry (insureds, insurers, reinsurers, brokers) in litigation, arbitration and complex appraisal proceedings relating to insurance coverage, product liability and commercial disputes.
Pascal gained inside knowledge of the insurance business by working for an insurance brokerage firm for several years before entering the legal profession. After serving as a partner at a major British law firm, he participated in the creation of Cabinet BOPS, which rapidly established itself as one of the leading law firms in France when it comes to insurance and reinsurance disputes.
Representative matters include: acting for a pool of international insurers in relation to defects in an oil platform; numerous civil and criminal matters relating to fires at warehouses or industrial sites; representation of an electronic devices manufacturer in multiple product liability proceedings; representation of a French beverage company in pre-litigation investigation and conciliation regarding a defective industrial process at a factory in the Caribbean. Pascal also assits its international clients in setting up activities in France or in drafting insurance contracts in compliance with French law.
Pascal actively participates in current debates on the development of insurance and reinsurance law. He is the French correspondent for Getting the Deal Through for insurance and reinsurance and regularly publishes articles on insurance law and commercial litigation.
Pascal holds a masters degree in French business law from the University of Paris II and a masters degree in British and American business law from the University of Paris I-Sorbonne.
