Javier Lasa is a partner in Salans’ Madrid office and co-head of the Energy and Natural Resources Group. He specialises in Energy Law (gas, oil, electricity and renewable energy), EPC/Construction Law and M&A. Before joining Salans, he worked in Brussels in a Belgium law firm for two years before joining the Anglo-Spanish Group of Boodle Hatfield in 1992. As part of the Anglo-Spanish team, he moved to Denton Hall in August 1995. In 1999, he joined Denton Lupicinio as a partner and in 2001 he joined Masons Buxeda Menchén law firm as a partner.

As to the gas and oil sector, he has experience in drafting and advising major oil and gas companies in different types of contracts such as Production Sharing Contracts, Joint Operation Agreements (JOA), Crude Oil Purchase and Marketing Agreement, Gas Supply Agreements and LNG Spot Sales. He also advises on high profile energy and renewable energy projects.

Javier graduated in Law from the University of Valladolid, he studied Energy Law in the University of Dundee. He also has a Masters degree in European Community Law from Université Libre of Brussels.

He is member of the Madrid Bar Association. He speaks English, French and Spanish.
