Jakub Pokrzywniak graduated from the law school of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan in 2000. He defended his doctoral dissertation on civil law in 2004 and was awarded the title of LL.D. For more than 10 years he has been a lecturer at Adam Mickiewicz University, teaching civil law.

Jakub Pokrzywniak is a legal counsel and specializes inter alia in energy law. He has advised leading Polish and international energy undertakings (e.g. EDF, TAURON, ENEA, VATTENFALL, RWE) and represented Clients before the regulatory authorities and the courts .

Additionally, Jakub Pokrzywniak was actively involved in legislative works on energy law (including parliamentary works), and he advised Clients in legislative process concerning the new Polish nuclear law.

Jakub Pokrzywniak has authored more than ten academic and practical articles on energy law.

As of 1 January 2010, Jakub Pokrzywniak has been appointed Of Counsel to WKB.
