Helen Macpherson is an Executive Counsel specialising in intellectual property litigation and dispute resolution. Helen joined Freehills in 1998, and has practised for over 10 years as an intellectual property specialist. She has extensive experience in advising clients on all types of intellectual property including copyright, moral rights, patents, trade marks and confidential information.

Helen’s practice focuses on a range of industries including the telecommunications, consumer goods, manufacturing, finance, media and advertising, pharmaceutical and life sciences industries. Significant clients have included:

Helen has a combined Science/Law Degree from the University of Sydney (1997). Helen graduated with First Class Honours and the University Medal in her Science Degree and with First Class Honours in her Law Degree.

Helen is a member of the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand (“IPSANZ”) and was a member of the IPSANZ New South Wales Branch Committee for a number of years. Helen is admitted in the Supreme Court of New South Wales, the Federal Court of Australia and the High Court of Australia.
