Sang Hwan Lee is a partner in the firm’s Banking, Securities Regulations, Investment Management, Japanese, and Derivatives Practice Groups.
Mr. Lee practices in a wide range of areas of finance-related law, with a focus on banking laws and regulations and M&A of financial institutions. He also has extensive experience advising clients in financial derivatives transactions and corporate finance matters. As a member of the Japanese Practice Group, Mr. Lee also advises a broad range of Japanese financial institutions. Mr. Lee’s representative works in recent years include advising on major M&As of domestic banks and post-transaction integration of banks and representing financial institutions investigated by the Financial Supervisory Service. Mr. Lee has also acted as an outside advisor to the Ministry of Finance and Economy as a member of the ministry’s Financial Industry Deliberation Committee and as a member of the ministry’s Task Force for Improvement of Credit Information System.
Mr. Lee received his B.A. in law from Seoul National University and his LL.M. from Cornell Law School. He is admitted to practice in Korea and New York.
