Kye Sung Chung is a partner and is the chair of the Finance Department at Kim & Chang.
He has been with the firm since 1976, and his practice focuses on corporate finance, securities law matters, and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Chung has extensive transactional experience, representing publicly and privately-held multinational and Korean companies in cross-border acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures, securities offerings and financings. In addition, he advises foreign and domestic clients on commercial banking and investment banking issues, including regulatory matters.
Mr. Chung has served as an auditor of the Korean Institute of Directors since 2002 and has been a member of the Council on Financial Industry Development under the Ministry of Finance and Economy since 1996. In addition, he was a member of the Industrial Deregulation Review Committee under the Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy from 1993 to 1998. He also served as an incorporator of the Financial Supervisory Service in 1998.
He has published numerous articles on various financing and corporate matters, including regulation of foreign banks, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, and insider dealing regulation.
Mr. Chung received his B.A. in law from Seoul National University. He is a member of the Bar of the Republic of Korea.
