Luiz Olavo Baptista has practised law for more than forty years and has acted as lawyer, counsel and arbitrator both in Brazil and abroad. Mr. Baptista was President of the WTO Appellate Body, January-December 2008 and was a member of the WTO Appellate Body, December 2001 - February 2009. He participates in the leading arbitration organizations around the world. Mr. Baptista received his PhD from Paris II University in 1981. He is full professor of International Law at the School of Law of the University of São Paulo. Fluent in English, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese.
