José Rosell

José Rosell is head of Hughes Hubbard’s arbitration practice in Paris, and is co-chair of the firm’s Arbitration and ADR practice group. He speaks six languages and is able to conduct arbitrations in English, French and Spanish. He is also a member of both the Paris and Barcelona Bars.

José has extensive experience acting as counsel in international arbitration proceedings. In addition he has served as chairman, sole arbitrator or co-arbitrator in several international commercial and treaty arbitrations. He has a particular expertise in Investment Treaty arbitrations and has assisted clients in cases related to Bilateral Investment Treaties and Multilateral Investment Treaties. Overall he has been involved in more than 100 arbitrations.

José has also appeared in litigations before the French courts , mainly in the areas of International, Cross-border Litigation, and Litigation related to Arbitration.

José serves on the panels of several major international arbitration institutions including as a member of the arbitration commission of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). He also writes and lectures widely on the subject of international arbitration. Among other activities, José is a Former Professor of International Business Law at the University of Paris V and is a Professor of Courses for the Diploma on International Arbitration organized by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in Oxford, UK.
