Special Counsel
Jane is a Special Counsel in the Competition and Consumer Protection team at Blake Dawson. In that role, Jane advises extensively on a range of legal aspects of economic regulation including competition law under Australia’s Competition and Consumer Act 2010, as well as access and related regulatory frameworks. She has advised across the restrictive trade practices provisions, such as cartel conduct, exclusive dealing and merger clearance and also advises on anti-corruption matters.
Jane has been an active member of Transparency International-Australia (TI-A) since 1996, and a director since 2001 (apart from 2006-2007). As a director of TI-A, Jane has been involved in a range of regional negotiations and meetings and has represented TI-A at national and international conventions and fora. Her activities have included:
- Being a member of an advisory board overseeing the preparation of a report on anti-corruption and community development actions.
- Representing TI-A’s interests at meetings in Suva, Fiji and regional fora.
- Providing input to AusAID on corruption, anti-corruption and the private sector in the development of AusAID’s 2006 White Paper.
- Participating in ongoing consultation with the Attorney-General’s Department regarding Australia’s contribution to the development
of the UN Convention Against Corruption, the ADB/OECD Anti-Corruption Action Plan and Australia’s implementation of its obligations under the OECD Convention Against Corruption
